Dali Dong Village is in Zaima Town, Rongjiang County, Guizhou Province. Dali is home to a Dong ethnic minority group who speak Dong language, and cultivate a culture that finds its expression in a specific style of dress, architecture, music, and spiritual belief.
Dali project started in 2019, in collaboration with Dali women’s cooperative Dousa. After several field trips to research and gain insight into the rich local weaving traditions, the naze naze Dali collection launches in 2023, brings traditional “jacquard fabric” (a type of cross stitching) fabrics into modern life.
